The life and crimes of a Korean rescue puppy

Sorry it’s been so long since my last post~ I have so much to tell you but my human has been hogging the computer. We have a new foster kitten, we named him Kyo after the manga/anime character from “Fruits Basket”

Here we are playing on the roof together! Kyo is a pretty awesome kitty. He is 100% litter trained, UTD on vaccines AND good with dogs, cats, strangers and children! Plus he is leash trained!

Well, actually. . . He isn’t that great at walks. He rides on the humans shoulders up to the roof because he doesn’t like the flooring and he used to be scared of the concrete floor of the roof too. He LOVES the grass though and he is getting better about walking.

Doesn’t he look cute? He lets the human trim his claws and clean his ears no problem~ which makes me look bad >.< he also likes to sit on one of her hands and wash it while she pets him with the other hand~ leaving no loving for me!

I don’t mind too much because we have a lot of fun playing together and he shares his toys with me. But I’m sure he would like a human of his own.

That’s all for now but you can check out our youtube channel for some videos of Kyo and I, playing and walking together ^^

p.s. Emma one of our previous fosters has found her fur-ever home, yay! That means we have officially fostered and rehomed: 1 dog (Choco is in foster care elsewhere but she still needs her fur-ever family), 5 puppies, and 2 kittens! Can’t wait for Kyo to join the ranks of the adopted!

Cartoon Panda

Recently there was an outbreak of Distemper at one of the dog shelters in Korea and the animal rescue community began making fundraisers to try and save the lives of the many pups in danger. One of the fundraisers was called ‘Drawing for Dogs’ and a talented artist Gimarie Battle offered cartoon versions of your pet! Naturally the human and I needed one of these, so here is my picture! She even added my pink tail dye- how awesome! (In case you’re wondering why I’m reading it’s because my human is in the middle of publishing her own series of Novella’s) What do you think? Cute, right!?

A childs guide to puppy interaction

If you’re a scaredy-pup like me, human interaction is one of the scariest things out there. All these giant humans reaching out to touch you, picking you up and jiggling you about. I hate it, but there is something scarier- the little humans.

I haven’t met a nice one yet, although my human tells me that its because they don’t understand, not because they’re mean. So I’m giving children the benefit of the doubt and sharing this awesome guide by Dr Sophia Yin. Please share it and teach children about us scaredy-pups. I’ll work on my barking if you work on your screaming okay?

Dogsitting and Rescue Happy Endings

A few months ago I posted about my friend Emma who is still in foster care even though it has been a year since we rescued her from KARMA.

This weekend her foster home had visitors who are allergic to dogs so Emma came to stay with us. Now,  I’m a pretty lazy/laid back dog but Emma takes it to a whole new level. The moment you put her on something (a bed, the floor, your lap) she curls up, no pacing or turning required. It’s like her legs give out the second they come into contact with the surface. She pretty much spent the entire weekend at the foot of the humans bed.

The Human says she is a better leash-walker than I am because Emma doesn’t pull. Whatever, I could not pull if I wanted to.

The problem is Emma’s foster mum is leaving Korea in August, which means we have 2 months to find her a new forever home. So if you know anyone who wants a seriously low-energy dog, let me know here or contact us through Emma’s ARK profile.

Also the human was going through her computer and found lots of photos of Emma and her pups from when we first rescued them so here is the Happy Ending: ALL of Emma’s pups are in forever homes and experiencing real love in their family.

Choco’s Chance

I’m sorry I haven’t posted anything for a while~ I have been busy with my latest rescue project.

Meet Choco. Choco was a chained dog, who was abused. When she was rescued from this she didnt have to wait long to find her forever home. Every dog and human in the rescue community was thrilled to see another happy ending.

Except that it wasnt. It was with mounting dismay as we all looked on to see Chocos new forever home ask for advice and then ignore it. Issues seemed to be piling up and we were powerless to help. Finally Choco’s human began to consider putting Choco down and the rescue community was horrified.

Fortunately with the help of my friend Leeloo and her human, my human and I appealled to Chocos human to let us have her. We went undercover for almost 2 weeks until we were able to collect Choco.

Now she is in a safe (temporary) home we can start the process to heal and rehome her. Unfortunately because of the neglect of her previous homes Choco never received any vaccinations, nor was she spayed and worst of all due to the choke chain she was forced to wear, poor little Choco has a collapsed trachea.

If you would like to follow her story please join the fundraising event on facebook~

If you are interested in adopting Choco please check out her profile~

Choco loves belly rubs and I am graciously sharing my human with her, but all dogs deserve their own family. Please share Choco’s story to give her the best chance possible at her new life.

Feeling Lonely?

Just a quick post today~ to let you know my friend Emma was spayed and is ready for adoption! Yay

Emma and her 5 puppies were rescued by my human back in the summer. They were all discovered to have distemper and Emma was dangerously malnourished from supporting the puppies. Fortunately with some help from our amazing Animal Rescue friends and my super awesome Vet they all made a full recovery. ^^

All of Emma’s puppies were adopted pretty quickly and are all living amazing lives with their new families~

but Emma is still waiting. She has a pretty amazing foster family, but I’m sure she would love a family of her own. If you are interested in adopting Emma please check out her profile here

For Potential Kitten adopters

So as you know, the human and I are fostering a pair of super cute kittens, with the aim of finding them a forever home.

As you can see I’ve grown quite attached to them ^^ but we hope that they find their own homes soon before they become to attached to us.

In light of this I’d like to tell you about them a bit more^^ At the moment the daily routine of the kittens is as follows~

7.30~9am play time with me (the human empties their litter box during this time) 9~9.15am the human gives them breakfast and fresh water

9.15~5.15pm the human is at work so they are kept in a pen. In the pen the have a crate with a pillow for snuggles, a cardboard box with a pillow and towel for snuggles, a litter box, food and water, and some toys.

When the human gets home she lets me play with them until they need a nap then it’s time for my walk ^^ when we get back the kittens are still sleeping but the human opens their pen so they can come play if they want to.

They usually have dinner sometime between 8 or 9pm and bed time is between 10.30~11.30 The kittens are so playful! They play with each other, with me, with the human and sometimes they will play with their own tails ^^

A lot of times I dont want to play with them so I will snuggle with my human or sit on the stairs but the kittens eventually find me and meow at me until I play with them.

The human is training them to allow her to touch their paws and mouths, and to get them used to cleaning their ears (I actually LOVE having my ears cleaned) so they are super ready to find their forever homes ^^

My friend Lucy wrote about what to expect and what to purchase for your new feline friend so I’ll just give you the links~

The boy Maru is almost certainly adopted but little Narae (the girl ) still needs a home, leave a comment and we will help you start the application process ^^ alternatively check out Narae’s profile:
